Company Psycho Craft Studio, By the way, from the capital of our homeland, I have been on the game development market for 1.5 years now, and have already managed to release a good product in the arcade genre – Pulsarius. After the relative success of their brainchild, they kept their sleeves up and continued in the same spirit. The developers decided to remember and resurrect an almost dead genre – arcade action racing (the most common genre on SPS). Their new creation is called "Deadly Road"or, in a foreign way, – "ROAD 666". That’s what we’ll talk about.

The idea of ​​the project is simple, like the principle of operation of a divergence tube of an amorphous flow, that is, driving a car through vast spaces with crowds of monsters. And also – a large selection of weapons and many bonuses, incredible replay value.

Remember the company Sigma Team? They created the great arcade Alien Shooter. So, this year Moscow developers from Psycho Craft Studio They didn’t reinvent the wheel, but simply took Alien, transferred it to full 3D, transplanted the hero into a jeep and added innovations. But they didn’t stop there, screwing in the simplest economic simulator – a store with upgrades for a jeep (something from Vangerov). But your task remains the same – to shoot left and right tons of crawling, walking and all sorts of other reptiles.

To get to the next parallel world, you need to hit a certain number of enemies in the allotted time, and at the same time jump to checkpoints. Now for each monster you get money (money defeats evil!). After accumulating dividends, we head to the store to grade ourselves, without this we can’t go anywhere. Any part of the car can be upgraded, even… the exhaust pipe, from which fire will pour out, incinerating the fiends of hell.

The plot of the game, and, oddly enough, there is one, consists of banal rides on an iron horse across all sorts of continuum worlds in order to kill monsters, explore territories and search for all sorts of objects. At the beginning of each mission, you are given a short task: go through so many checkpoints and kill so many undead, and sometimes find some artifact. After the main campaign ends, you will be given a new mode – "Survival (Arena)", a full range in the store and a six-figure salary (how I wish I had that).

Now let’s talk about the monsters we killed. The entire horned tribe consists of a couple of dozen different creatures: from ordinary zombie mutants to alien robots. All these evil spirits are quite smart and act in different situations in different ways, but not immediately – at the beginning of the game all the monsters simply attack head-on, but in the end from all 16 sides, even from the air. But the game is really difficult, and I think this is a minus, because “MEAT” should be for relaxation and stress relief. And by playing this game, you can break more than one “clave” and “rodent”.

Psycho Crafts seem to be our people, and, apparently, like half of the Russian stage, they decided to play rock on a regular synthesizer. Maybe not everyone will notice the difference, but, you see, any tooth-crushing game needs a heavy, even hard, soundtrack. Remember Will Rock or Painkiller, their soundtrack is heavy and atmospheric, but in Road 666 you won’t see this. Insensitive music, untidy sounds – a huge cobblestone against game makers from Moscow.

As I already said, the game has been transferred to full 3D, I can tell you it’s very decent 3D. Good textures, especially cars, bright and varied landscapes. But the main thing is the monsters, they leave much to be desired. It’s impossible to look at their angular faces, so it’s better to exterminate them right away. Dull “skins”, lack of smoothing of models, but on the other hand this is correct, because sometimes there are up to 500 of them on the screen exactly (I didn’t count, of course, but a lot). That is why the system requirements are so low.

An excellent revival of the genre, thanks to the efforts of Russian guys (pride!) from Psycho Craft Studio, for which I thank them very much! The game is seriously addictive – a great atmosphere, overshadowed by the soundtrack. The emergence of an economic component – a store with upgrades. Now we crush monsters not in vain, but for the sake of some purpose! And here’s another thing, there’s not a lot of blood! We need deciliters of blood, but here, God willing, there’s enough for a three-liter jar.
But these are all small things compared to the pleasure and adrenaline that you get when passing and simply shooting enemies of the human race.
